Non-DJUSD Courses

DJUSD Board policy allows up to ten credits for courses from other accredited institutions on the DJUSD transcript with notation of where the course was taken. This could be a one semester college course, for example, or two semesters of high school level courses. A notation of P will be made if the course has been preapproved as college prep by UC/CSU for "a-g" credit. The policy went into effect June 15, 2012, without regard for any previous non-DJUSD courses taken. All non-DJUSD courses must be completed by the end of fall semester of the senior year.

 

UC/CSU Approved A-G Courses:

Go to www.ucop.edu/a-gGuide/ag/online_course.html.

Select names of approved online providers you are interested in.

Then go to: https://doorways.ucop.edu/list.

Enter the name of the online school and then review the list of "a-g" approved courses.

Note: UC/CSU will not accept any online course in the area of visual and performing arts (VPA) or laboratory science, unless science courses require an on-site wet lab component.

Final Exam Proctor: DJUSD teachers do not proctor final exams for online courses.

Class of 2022 (current 9th graders):

March 6th- DSHS Road Show in the Harper Quad at lunch

March 11th- Course selection assistance in the Harper Computer Lab at lunch 

March 12th- Harper Jr. High College Night from 6-8pm

March 13th- DSHS Course Selections are due (will be turned in during the student's English class)

 

Class of 2023 (current 8th graders)

Week of March 11th- Counselor Class Visits to discuss Program Planning

March 13th- Incoming 9th grade Parent Night at 6:30pm in the MPR

March 20th- Harper Open House at 6:30-8pm

March 21st- 9th grade course selections are due (will be turned in to the student's science class)

 

Class of 2024 (current 7th graders)

Week of March 11th- Counselor Class Visits to discuss Program Planning

March 13th- Incoming 8th grade Parent Night at 6:30pm in the gym

March 20th- Harper Open House at 6:30-8pm

March 21st- 8th grade course selections are due (will be turned in to the student's science class)

 

Class of 2025 (current 6th graders)

Week of March 18th- Counselor class visits at Elementary schools to discuss courses for next year

March 20th- Incoming 7th grade Parent Night at 6pm in the Harper MPR

March 20th- Harper Open House at 6:30-8pm

April 5th- 7th grade course selections are due (please turn in to 6th grade teacher)

If you are wanting to transfer to Harper next year and do not attend one of our feeder schools (Montgomery Elementary, Korematsu Elementary, or Pioneer Elementary), please be sure to complete an intradistrict transfer.
